Drainless thoracoscopic surgery for primary spontaneous pneumothorax: A propensity-matched study
This propensity‑matched retrospective study evaluated drainless thoracoscopic surgery for primary spontaneous pneumothorax. In carefully selected patients, omission of chest drains resulted in significantly less postoperative pain and shorter hospital stay without increasing complications or recurrence rates. These findings suggest that, with appropriate patient selection, drainless strategies can safely reduce the burden of chest drain–related morbidity and support faster recovery following thoracoscopic pneumothorax surgery.
